What is Sports Massage?

Intensive workout routines and excessive muscle strain occurring during exercise lead to muscle and peritoneal contractions and shortening, which render the musculoskeletal system prone to injury. Sports massage is a reliable relaxation and recovery method for overworked muscles, as well as for preventing injuries. It is designed for athletes— professional and amateur alike—but also for any person seeking to cope with the physical strain of a demanding daily life.

Sports massage

The accumulation of lactic acid and other metabolic derivatives in the muscles following intensive exercise causes pain that leads to muscle contraction and stiffness, reduced performance and making athletes prone to injury. Sports massage focuses on enhancing blood flow to the area, removing metabolic by-products of exercise, increasing muscle elasticity and reducing tension. As a result, sports massage reduces muscle injuries, helps achieve speedier recovery and improve performance by delivering an increase of the training volume.
